Admission to the event is free. The event’s hours are 10:00am till 4:00pm.

This event has grown in recent years to become one of the area’s most popular family festivals. It features food, live musical entertainment, wildlife and other educational exhibits, arts and crafts, carriage rides and exhibitors and vendors of services and equipment for the outdoor enthusiast. In addition there will be fun activities for kids such as casting contests, archery, target shooting, and rides and games for the smaller kids. It’s a lot of fun for the whole family and has become very popular in our local and regional area. The money raised during this event is used to support a full year of activities and programs for Wildlife Action’s various children’s educational programs.

Special Musical Guests: Hagar’s Mountain Boys to perform at Wild Game Cook-Off

Award-winning bluegrass band “The Hagar’s Mountain Boys” will perform at the North Carolina Wildlife Action Wild Game & Southern Cuisine Cook-Off. "The Hagar's Mountain Boys" bluegrass style is influenced strongly by the traditional bluegrass we all love, though staying modern with original material.  Above all, this North Carolina band uses the fun factor to make their bluegrass exciting and energetic.

Wildlife Action, Inc. is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) volunteer organization with a 509 (a) (2) public charity status dedicated to raising public awareness of the many threats to our diminishing wildlife habitat and natural resources. Our primary focus is on youth education programs that emphasize the principles embodied in our Five Points: Preservation, Conservation, Education, Sportsmanship and Fellowship. We share with our youth the outdoor traditions that we have enjoyed and together work to protect those traditions for future generations through programs such as “Take a Kid Fishing Day”, camping, boating and hunter safety classes, summer camps with canoe trips, archery, and bluebird and duck box building days. To fund these programs we rely solely on member dues, charitable donations, and fund-raising events.
