This event has grown in recent years to become one of the area’s most popular family festivals. It features food, live musical entertainment, wildlife, conservation, environmental and other educational exhibits, arts and crafts, and exhibitors and vendors of services and equipment for the outdoor enthusiast. In addition there are fun activities for kids such as bluebird box building, archery and airgun target shooting, an inflatable jungle gym, and other rides and games for the smaller kids. It’s a lot of fun for the whole family, and has become an eagerly anticipated Spring event in our area. The money raised during this event is used to support a full year of activities and programs for Wildlife Action’s various children’s educational programs. This year’s winners for the top prizes were: First Place ($500.00) - Bill White, for Grilled Medallions of Venison Tenderloin with Red Bell Pepper Chipotle Sauce; Second Place ($300.00) - Sandi McGirt, for McGirt’s Catfish Stew; and Third Place ($100.00) - Bill White, for Wild Turkey Cordon Blue with White Wine Mustard Cream Sauce. The money raised during this event is used to support a full year of activities and programs for our area youth, such as "Take a Kid Fishing Day", camping, boating and hunter safety classes, summer camps and canoe trips, archery, and bluebird and duck box building days. It's only the support of our sponsors and the people of our community that enables us to be successful with our programs.
