Karen Gore: Painting With A Purpose

Talented artist Karen Gore, of Whiteville, North Carolina displays the original painting she is donating to Wildlife Action to help with our annual fund-raising event, the 8th Annual Wild Game Cook-Off and Sportsman's Expo on March 15th, 2003.

The painting is of the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker (
Picoides borealis), an endangered species which used to be common in North Carolina. It's valued at $500.00 and will be given away in a raffle drawing at the conclusion of the Wild Game Cook-off on March 15, along with several other prizes including a Suzuki LT-F300F 4-wheeler ATV and (2) US Savings Bonds.

Proceeds from the drawing are used to help Wildlife Action's educational and recreational youth programs. Raffle tickets are available from Wildlife Action members, many participating area businesses, or call 640-2648 or email. General admission to the Cook-Off/Expo is free.

The members of Wildlife Action  are grateful to Karen for her generosity and support. To see more of Karen's beautiful paintings just visit her gallery!
